Here we are reviewing the first of the two flights available on this last Saturday in May at Sharkbay, the main event on the poker schedule here at King's Casino in Rozvadov.
It was the busiest Day 1 so far, with 518 entries totaled over the 9 levels valid for registration. In the end, there were 51 people who took a stack to Day2 and the Italian-German LeonardoSabatino put everyone in line with a stack of 1,030,000 chips, the second-best performance of all the Day1s after that of the Swiss 🇨🇭Alain Bruno Hostettler (CLICK HERE to read the full report).
"The tournament went well! - says Leonardo - I won two big pots towards the beginning and put myself in a very comfortable position to attack the table without having to risk too much. I accumulated chips by winning many small pots until the last level of play."
Leonardo, while speaking perfect Italian, was born and raised in Germany and has also won a WSOP Circuit ring:
"I often play these kinds of tournaments and in addition to the ring I have hit several prestigious placings in my short career. But I still haven't finished as Day 1 chip leader!"
The Top 5
If Leonardo Sabatino can boast the second-best performance of the kermis, the Russian 🇷🇺Nikita Konovalov can still be satisfied, thanks to the 860,000 chips he bagged today.
In third place is another Italian, 🇮🇹Danilo Paciullo (793,000), while fourth and fifth place go to Poland's 🇵🇱Pawel Zawadowicz (781,000) and Israel's 🇮🇱Igor Kiperband (761,000) respectively.

As was the case on Day 1 D, this flight also saw a massive presence of Germans qualifying for Day 2. Seventeen players will turn up tomorrow afternoon at 16.30 against 12 players from Italy, the second-largest country in terms of number of qualifiers.
